<p>You attract what you’re thinking about! Remember that wise old saying “Be careful what you ask for” ?</p>
<p>Each day we let our mind run rampant, mostly with worry & other stressful thoughts and totally useless distractions. Then we wonder why ” everything bad seems to be happening to ME”. It's because we're not taking charge of our own lives. Take charge right now by being mindful & switching those negative thoughts ASAP. It’s work but it’s so worth it! I’ve been there, I’ve done it, it works, it literally saved my life and eliminated my suffering from severe ulcerative colitis!</p>

<li>Each day meditate & focus on what you want or need in the most passionate, positive way possible. Use all of your senses & see it in your mind as if it were already happening.</li>
<li>Daily feel satisfaction in all that you do & have. Practice an attitude of appreciation!</li>

<li>Expect it’s coming, without a doubt. Feel it!</li>

Today I Will Be Happy
<p>A few simple ways to create some positive habits that can change your life better!</p>

<p>Before you get out of bed everyday:</p>
<ol></ol>
<p>Maintain an Attitude of Appreciation for at least 17 secs. Find a thought that makes you feel appreciative. </p>
<p>Work your way up to 68 seconds each day. </p>
<ol>
<li>Build on that thought daily. Each day work on making that appreciation last longer. </li>
<li>Add thoughts about other things you appreciate.</li>
<li>Avoid things / people/ thoughts that distract you from your appreciation .</li>
<li>Create a list of positive aspects about your work or what you want. </li>
<li>Create a list of positive aspects about your life in general.</li>
<li>Eventually make a goal of staying in appreciation longer everyday and watch as good things happen more and more often. </li>
</ol>
<p>Get to 68 seconds for maximum effect. </p>

Happy New Year 2023! What I Learned About Being Self-ish in 2022
<p> Since 2016 the energies, planets, Universe have all lined up to bring us the <strong>“Age of the Malignant Narcissist “</strong>. They came out of the wood work following a leader who was the embodiment of it. They had a support team hungry with power. Their sole purpose was to destroy safeguards, rules and laws to enrich themselves no matter what harm they caused to others. It had been building for a few decades. Selfishness beyond belief.</p>
<p><strong>MALIGNANT</strong> = definition, <em>adjective</em> , disposed to cause harm, suffering, or distress deliberately; feeling or showing ill will or <strong>hatred</strong>, very dangerous or<strong> harmful in influence</strong> or effect.</p>
<ol>
<li>
<strong>tending to produce death</strong>, as bubonic <strong>plague</strong>.</li>
<li>(of a tumor) characterized by <strong>uncontrolled</strong> growth; cancerous, <strong>invasive</strong>, or metastatic.</li>
</ol>

<p> Millions have died due to the cruelty of these malignant leaders and their followers. I understood how such a thing could happen in this day and age. Decades of corporate greed and planned infiltration and deregulation of our government and media caused much sickness, fear and anger.</p>
<p> I wanted to help. I wanted to change things for the better. I deplore seeing people suffer. I was allowing outside anger to frustrate and stress me out daily. My hair literally started falling out in chunks in 2020 as I watched 500,000 people unnecessarily pass from covid and babies being kidnapped at the border among other crimes committed by our own leaders at that time! </p>
<p> I had to pull myself back and remember the voices of my mentors, intuition, and even flight attendants, “If you don’t have your health, nothing else matters”. On the airplane , “put the air mask on yourself FIRST” so you can then be of help to others. I knew all these things for decades but the pain and cruelty on such a large scale was almost too much to endure. I realized it was time to go inward. It was time to get hold of myself and my well being. Time to get hold of my thoughts and feelings and be more “self-ish” in the most positive way possible. I wanted to stay healthy in order to be of service using my gifts of music and communication to hopefully uplift, inspire and empower others to do the same. It was time to get selfish in a whole different way.</p>

<p> <strong>Selfish</strong> has a negative connotation in most people’s minds. I’ve given it a new one with the addition of a hyphen, self-ish! Years ago I started realizing that being <strong>self-ish</strong> was the best way to describe a path to my clients (and myself!), for better health in body, mind and spirit. </p>
<p> I began to give it a more honored place in my vocabulary. Being <strong>self-ish</strong> to me now means to take care of myself FIRST. To be sure I’m seeing to my own health above all else. Putting health at number one on my list of <strong>values</strong>.</p>
<p><strong>VALUES</strong> = definition – ones judgement of what’s most important to them in their lives</p>
<p> This doesn’t mean to ignore all else. It means Me first, so that I can then in turn help you if I’m able. I need to rest right now so I’ll find another way or time to help with this or that later. <strong>Being self-ish means</strong> <strong>to take time to nurture ourselves</strong> doing things that make us feel good, happy, joyful. </p>
<p><strong>How do we do that?</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>
<strong>Meditate</strong> – just sit and listen to your breathing, or put on your favorite relaxation or affirmation mp3, or think about things that used to make you happy when you were young/ think about recent things that’ve made you happy. Each day sit for 5 – 15mins and try all of the above.</li>
<li>
<strong>Make a list</strong> and start doing more of those things you meditated on !</li>
<li>Make a conscious effort to <strong>think more positive thoughts</strong> and solutions and less time criticizing and worrying. <strong>Thoughts are things and energy!</strong> What you think attracts & causes similar reactions to happen. </li>
<li>Acknowledge problems or as I like to say ” challenges ” and then go in to <strong>solution mode</strong>. Try it! It’s actually more fun solving problems than it is being angry and stressing over them.</li>
<li>Remember that <strong>by meditating and going within </strong>and learning about ourselves, changing those negative thoughts, behaviors and old habits that are no longer helping us, <strong>we can change what’s happening in our lives on the outside.</strong> </li>
<li>We can have good health and what ever else we want and need not by changing the world, but by <strong>changing ourselves</strong>.</li>
</ol>
<p> In 2022 I started being more self-ish in the most positive way possible. I started focusing in more on <em>my</em> <em>needs</em> and desires and stopped worrying about things out of my control at the time. It’s funny because I’m always so busy, but not only did I find the time and get more organized, but I accomplished more. My social media posts were more positive and more about Me, who I was and what I loved to do, what made me happy. I still posted about global and national issues but now it was more about Me. That didn’t come naturally to me by the way. It still takes effort. It felt like bragging, which as a child I was told by nuns was very bad. I’m almost over it now that I know it was a form of oppression and silencing creative, resistant voices. </p>
<p> When I did that people started noticing, and more jobs came my way. I didn’t book any of them. They all found me and in perfect order for the place I was in mentally and physically at the time! The Universe only sends us what it knows we can handle. One client said that after searching many other Instagram pages the energy he felt from my page is what inspired him to hire me. They were wonderful , loving, positive people, and it was a beautiful event! Like attracts Like ! </p>
<p> By being more self-ish, nurturing and <strong>taking care of “self ” first,</strong> so that we can then be of service to others when we’re able, keeps us in the best of health. When we’re in the best of health, body, mind and spirit we shine. When we shine we attract <strong>others who are positive </strong>and who want to be a part of your positive light, or include you in theirs. </p>

Itchy Dry Winter Skin ?
<p>UPDATE: Its now Dec 31, 2019. I promised an update on my water and food theory as the Winter progressed. SO far its working… WHEN I stick to drinking LOTS of water. My rash is staying under control (2nd skin photo below 1st skin photo) as long as I pay attention, eat less salt & sugar, eat more fruits & veggies, eliminate caffeine, get adequate rest, and drink LOTS more water. When I’m eating unconsciously I’m also constantly thirsty . SO greatly increasing water intake and eating mindfully IS working in a huge way. Now You also know why WATER is such a big commodity and everyone is trying to cash in. Its because we can’t live without it. It’s necessary for good health, & LIFE “period”.</p>
<p>The crazy thing is that our skin is like a barometer for everything that goes in to our pie holes ! I noticed when I went 2 days around Thanksgiving eating what I wanted and not paying attention to food or water intake, after 2 days my skin became visibly drier, flakier & itchier. Scratching my face right off was a constant thought! Resuming healthier food & water intake calmed it down noticeably. Same experience around Xmas as Thanksgiving, the 2 holidays where there’s the most stress & I allow myself to wing it nutritionally. Read what science says:</p>

<p style="text-align:center;">For the last 3 -4yrs Winter effects my skin almost the instant temperatures drop to the 30’s (Fahrenheit in the U.S. still) I have patches only on my face, that start with pink, which can turn to red, dry, scaly, cracking, and itchy. I’ve tried numerous natural remedies which have soothed my skin, but none have eliminated this phenomena that just appeared suddenly in my late 50’s except for one so far.</p>
<p>This photo below is the closest example I could find online that resembles my rash at its worst only mine was much more red and would crack & bleed. Last winter it covered the left side of my face almost entirely.</p>

<p>This is what my rash site looks like right now after extra water intake, humidifier, coconut oil, winter omega foods. Much improved since 2 weeks ago. I have 3 very sml areas, one on my forehead , the other very small on my right cheek, and this site on the right side of my chin.</p>

<p>It seems that dehydration is at the root of the issue. Stress which depletes vitamins and minerals in our body can also attribute. I’ve always paid close attention to my diet and usually drink plenty of water and water filled foods veggies, fruits, fish. However, it appears that the older we get some of our bodies may need even more water.</p>
<p>Some elders may never experience an itchy rash, but may end up in hospital with dizziness and a urinary tract infection, or other ailments due to dehydration. This was the case with my Dad. As soon as they plugged in the intravenous fluids I could literally watch within minutes as his skin plumped up from sallow, dry, and wrinkled to a smooth, healthy pinkish glow.</p>
<p>SO, You must drink lots of plain clean water!<span class="Apple-converted-space"> I now drink more water than I ever thought I needed. This winter in particular I notice I’m actually feeling more thirsty than I’ve ever felt before. Weird , but drinking more water than usual seems to be helping the rash stay small and pink vs itchy, red and flaking & cracking.</span></p>
<p><span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Use a humidifier when you are indoors, especially during the winter. Cold winter air is irritating to the skin and heaters in our homes and offices dry the air and our bodies as well. Adding moisture back into the environment with a humidifier could help. Taking hot showers often in the winter can actually make the problem worse. Showering with warm water is fine but hot water can irritate your skin. Afterwards, pat (don’t rub) your skin with your towel. Leave some moisture on your skin and use your fav organic moisturizer.</p>
<p>I keep a small spray bottle of water infused with favorite essential oils handy to spray my skin a few times a day and apply organic coconut oil over that to help lock in the moisture. I also now keep a carafe and glass of water on my night table next to a small humidifier.</p>
<p>Nutrition is another area that’s totally related. Sugar, salt & caffeine are a few food & drink ingredients that can dehydrate us instantly. If you can’t cut down or stop, at least drink a large glass of water each time you indulge in these things. Of course cutting down is best. Eating foods with healthy omega 3 fats helps winter skin too! Salmon, avocados, nuts, sweet potato, veggie soups with clear broth etc. Google for more winter food menu ideas. <a href="https://chopra.com/articles/6-foods-that-can-dehydrate-you" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Six foods that can dehydrate you.</a></p>
<p>If you have eczema or another skin condition diagnosed by your health care provider, talk to them about the appropriate treatment for you.</p>
<p>If you have tried all of these remedies and still don’t have relief, talk to your healthcare provider. There could be a different cause or treatment for the problem that you aren’t aware of. Although the itchy skin is rarely serious, allergies or damage from scratching can lead to infections that could be serious. Be sure to seek treatment if you notice pain, redness, swelling or develop a fever.</p>
<p>This is the 4th yr of my recurring winter rash but the first year that I’m doubling my water intake on top of all the above mentioned things I’ve been doing for 3 yrs. So far the extra water has reduced inflammation & itching from a few weeks ago. There’s also a possibility that stress is low right now. I’ll keep you posted as December passes. The holidays always contain some stress. Hopefully, extra hydration & meditation will do the trick.</p>

It’s the FEELINGS That Really “Matter” When Manifesting

<p>Its really about what you’re feeling ! Those of Us working on manifesting/creating a better quality of Life have already been spending lots of time with being aware of our thoughts , and our words, trying to do & say more positive things, looking for solutions instead of stressing about the problem. These things really truly matter to our well being. However, what matters even more when trying to create “matter” and bring/manifest good things and good people in to our lives is the “<em>feeling</em>” behind the thoughts.</p>
<p>Thoughts & feelings are things that have an impact. When we have negative stressful thoughts/ feelings they create a toxic physiological reaction inside our bodies that cause dis-ease. A reaction that some are never aware of until the next day we feel that stiff neck or stomach upset or acid reflux that evening. Or even more dangerous yet, you almost have a fender bender (or worse) while driving your car, or almost cut off your finger while slicing that watermelon thinking about ” That jerk!” , both which a few of us have actually done.</p>
<p>So, that being said , You can be giving someone a civil compliment to keep the peace while inside your thinking, “What a jerk!” creating a negative stressful response in your cells.</p>

<p>If you can somehow bring yourself to be more understanding about <em>why</em> that person might be behaving like a jerk, you would be <em>softening</em> the intense emotion associated with “THAT JERK!!” and less harmful to yourself & others. Look for something more positive about the person or situation. I know , not so easy when you’re in the thick of things. Start in small steps. Even if you have to take a breath & search for a moment. Then put that more positive feeling behind your spoken words.</p>
<p>Ask any Actor. The thought underneath the spoken words changes everything in relation to the energy you put forth with those words, for better or worse.</p>
<p>As a severe ulcerative colitis survivor, I learned that stress is the main cause of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colitis" target="_blank" rel="noopener">colitis</a>. One of the first “games” or exercises I gave myself to begin healing was the <strong>check mark game</strong>. I found it in a book called <a href="https://feelinggood.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy</a>. I carried a pencil and a small pad of paper and created a checkmark each time I had a negative thought. To my shock, at the end of the day, I had around 200 ! Most of us being very visual, it made a huge impression seeing it on paper that way.</p>
<p>After that, for me , the next step was to begin <strong>canceling</strong> out those thoughts in the moment when they came, and replacing them with a more positive thought. I also used distraction. I tried to watch more funny tv shows and movies and stay away from negative people & situations. Meanwhile, this is what the inside of my forehead looked like for quite a while. Old habits die hard for some of us more stubborn folk.</p>

<p>Next step after getting used to looking for positive replacement words (i.e. ” I dislike ” instead of ” I hate” ) was to work on the FEELING behind the positive words. I used what I call the <strong>bubble technique</strong> . Believing in the power of energy as I do, I began by mentally surrounding myself in a bubble of white light as a defensive protective maneuver. White light in metaphysics (and for me) being the light of the divine, love, or positive universal energy that connects us all.</p>

<p>Then as my confidence grew , I mentally surrounded others in white light, before a meeting, before a show, at the start of my day, almost as if I were sending them positive energy or love in a very general way. I didn’t have to think of or look for a specific reason to like or “love” them.</p>
<p>At first I didn’t <em>feel</em> it but I kept practicing . Eventually, as I started seeing results. My belief, confidence, and inner peace became stronger. In conjunction with listening to my favorite <a href="https://www.potentialsunlimited.com/subliminal-products.cfm?id=53">Self-Healing self-hypnosis audio recording</a> daily, my ability to feel more relaxed became stronger as well. <a href="https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2018/12/181210144943.htm" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Our brains react to our thoughts real or imagined</a>. My brain was rewiring , my stress levels were going down, my health was improving…. all from <em>pretending</em> to feel until it became real.</p>
<p>Another exercise was to simply force myself to <strong>SMILE more</strong>! Did you know that <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/better/health/smiling-can-trick-your-brain-happiness-boost-your-health-ncna822591" target="_blank" rel="noopener">smiling can release chemicals in your brain to improve your mood</a>? Something so simple you think, but something many of us don’t do enough of. I started making a conscious effort in my mirror, even when I didn’t feel like it. Then out and about with friends & family, students, kids, and strangers, the driver next to me at a stop light. Funny thing, most would go from a frown to smiling back at me ! So I was able to affect their emotions as well. Of course be careful of someone misinterpreting and following you home. <img src="https://s0.wp.com/wp-content/mu-plugins/wpcom-smileys/twemoji/2/72x72/1f642.png" class="size_orig justify_inline border_" alt="🙂" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /></p>

<p>As I trained my thoughts to change, my old beliefs and behavior began to change. Psychologists use the term <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Behavior_modification" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Behavior Modification</a> . Thats all it is.</p>
<p>Like anything else you want to master, it takes daily practice. I was so ill I had no other option. It was literally a life or death situation for me.</p>
<p>Some other ways to practice putting feelings behind your thoughts and words to give them that extra push toward creation/ manifesting would be to <strong>use your imagination</strong> <strong>and all your senses</strong> while :</p>

<li>Meditating</li>
<li>Acting</li>
<li>Daydreaming</li>
<li>Listening to Self-hypnosis audio recordings</li>
<li>Practicing an Attitude of Gratitude</li>
</ol>
<p><a href="https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/supersurvivors/201712/why-daydreaming-is-good-us" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Daydream</a> about your wishes and desires and really be there. Science now says its good for us! Use all your senses and really feel it . What does it feel like, sound like, look like, etc to have that desired person, thing, or good health in your life. Use <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Affirmations_(New_Age)" target="_blank" rel="noopener">affirmations </a>or mantras <strong>with feeling</strong>, that speak to you personally to help keep you focused. This not about being out of touch with reality. Its about seeing reality in a more positive way. Accentuating the positive , while minimizing the negative. Training ourselves to creatively look for solutions, not dwell on a problem as being unsolvable or the end of the world.</p>

<p>Its not magic, although it may feel like it at first. <strong>Its science</strong>, but much more acceptable science now than when I started using these methods back in the early 1980’s THANK goodness !</p>

“ 5 Things YOU CAN DO Right NOW to Stay Balanced & Calm During Stressful Times “

Things are happening on such a connected global level , especially among some very bad world leaders committing human rights violations, & inciting violence using a megaphone, that we can’t help but be affected as we watch uncertainty, tempers & anxiety flare around us.</p>
<p style="text-align:center;"><strong>The Positive:</strong> Remember, there are many more people on the planet doing good things than bad. Think of all the people working hard behind the scenes, without recognition right now, keeping us safe. For better or worse we are the creators and there are no accidents.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Embrace your part & responsibility in the situation and ask for guidance.</li>

If you’re unable to move or just plain tired, listen to a meditation tape or favorite music and /or rest.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>I usually gravitate toward my favorite chair or comfy spot inside or outside.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Colors and materials matter to me too.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>The last few years I’ve been using diffusers with organic essential oils, cinnamon or lavender during the winter, orange during the summer along with fresh cut herbs.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>

If you can break away, do something fun, something relaxing (a hot bath), a book or a movie, something beautiful (an art museum, the beach, or a park), a walk around the neighborhood, a funny movie, time with a nurturing friend.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>If you only have a few minutes grab your favorite picture book, magazine, or a youtube video of your favorite comedian or listen to your favorite music. You can also find a mundane task to work on that you’ve been meaning to get to. <span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>
</li>

Remember , it’s not what happens, but how you <em>deal</em> with what happens. If you’ve done what you can, let go. If theres still some action to take, or something you can do however large or small, and it feels right, and causes no harm …do it!<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Otherwise, give it up to the Universe. “Let go and let God/Goddess”<span class="Apple-converted-space"> then</span> <strong>repeat steps 1 – 4</strong> above as needed.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p>

Berries, Fruits & Veggies excellent for Your Health & Well Being
<p>I’ve been talking about fruits & veggies for decades now. Being a severe ulcerative colitis survivor I had to learn about nutrition in my twenties. Uggh! It was a drag but it was life or death, not an option. During the healing process I had to eat some processed food because it was gentler on my colon. I did have just a few , but very limited healthier options at that time. However, after some self-administered mental behavior modification, and learning how to control my stress & thoughts, I was once again strong enough to get back to real food.</p>
<p>I found that the fruit and veggies just plain made me feel better, lighter, gave me so much more energy, and even kept my arteries & teeth cleaner! Hello! I used to pick fruit off the trees in my yard as a kid! Then science & corporate profits tried and succeeded in getting my generation out of the garden and into the grocery store.</p>
<p>Now , finally, more and more mainstream articles are touting the health benefits of fruit and veggies, that our Grandmothers, and Mothers knew, but many in my generation had lost.</p>
<p>I’m sure you (and your dentist) notice the plaque in your teeth after eating processed pasta, breads and meats? Thats the plaque that clogs your arteries. Alzheimers is plaque on your brain. Americans eat too much meat , bread, and starchy foods. People who live in other countries where they do not eat so much white processed/ bleached sugar, & eat burgers & pizza, have much longer lifespans.</p>
<p>Here in America Alzheimers, obesity, and heart attacks are at an all time high.</p>
<p>Time to get back to the garden, back to real food, organic fruits & veggies so we can enjoy a better quality of life and look forward to some fun & independence in our elder years vs a diet of processed food that will more than likely put us in bad health & a nursing home.</p>

Dare to Be Different, Dare to BE….You!
<p><em>” The person who follows the crowd will usually get no further than the crowd. The person who walks alone is likely to find themselves in places no one has ever been before.</em></p>
<p><em>Creativity in living is not without its attendant difficulties, for peculiarity breeds contempt. And the unfortunate thing about being ahead of your time is that when people finally realize you were right, they’ll say it was obvious all along. You have two choices in your life; you can dissolve into the mainstream, or you can be distinct. To be distinct, you must be different. To be different, you must strive to be what no one else but you can be.” – Author Unknown.</em></p>
<p>Many of us are raised by well meaning society and family that impose upon us rules or societal “norms” that tell us we must “fit in” to be accepted. We must care what others think in order to judge how well we’re doing in our daily lives. Do it this way, not that! Don’t be “self-ish”!</p>
<p>Being told these things was a form of oppression. Well, times are a changin’ !</p>
<p>There has never been more diversity on the planet as we continue to grow and reach out with our ideas and personalities more easily than ever before. Every day now, as exampled by those inhabiting the American White House, people are pushing the boundaries of what used to be normal. When it comes to personalities, creative talent, ideas etc., we’re finding out that we’re not alone. Through sheer frustration, stress & anger, millions are taking to the streets to show solidarity. There are others out there like Me, thinking like Me, acting like Me! Some have the courage to express themselves without fear. Others take it more slowly. Possibly due to environment and safety concerns, still fearing being too “different”.</p>
<p>Have courage, tenacity , and faith! And above ALL, take care of Yourself first.</p>
<p>We must take care of ourselves first, Body, Mind & Spirit, to ensure we’re able to build confidence , courage, have a healthy quality of life . So that’s a priority! We must make choices that fill our Spirit with joy & ease of living.</p>
<p>Then you will be strong enough to Feel the fear and BE yourself. Find something new & challenging. <a href="https://www.livescience.com/505-adult-brain-cells-growing.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Not only will you grow brain matter</a>, & new friendships with others like you, but you’ll grow confidence too. Try studying martial arts or any other physical movement that builds confidence and is fun for you. If you’re not physically able to do that type of physical strengthening, then exercise mentally. Study meditation, self hypnosis, learn, then use daily affirmations that will help change your mental behavior in the direction of confidence. I’m sure you’ve heard how Olympic Athletes visualize their actions as well as do them. That’s because if we visualize & really imagine & feel an action mentally, <a href="http://drdavidhamilton.com/does-your-brain-distinguish-real-from-imaginary/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">our brains sometimes can’t tell the difference between physical reality, actually “doing” something, and just thinking about it</a>. So you can have the same affect in regards to building confidence!</p>
<p>Do what makes You happy and then try volunteering. <a href="https://www.healthyplace.com/blogs/buildingselfesteem/2015/09/volunteering-to-build-self-esteem/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Volunteering is known to boost confidence and in turn your immune system!</a> There are plenty of opportunities out there in your own community to help others. Find one that You would enjoy. This is about your healing too. DO you like working with children or Seniors? Are you ok indoors, say in a hospital, or hospice environment? Or do you prefer being outside with Parks & Recreation? What are you curious about? <a href="https://search.yahoo.com/search?ei=utf-8&fr=aaplw&p=volunteer+opportunities+near+me" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Google to see whats out there</a>. In order to maintain balance and good health in Body, Mind, & Spirit , you have to be “Self-ish”. Through volunteering, You can be helping your-Self & others at the very same time! Crazy huh?!</p>
<p>What makes you happy? Make a list 1 – 10 of things that do, or used to (even in your childhood) make you happy. Start thinking about them. Are you noticing that you’re starting to feel a bit different just taking a trip down memory lane like I did, remembering my passion for stargazing when I was 8 yrs young? A little lighter, a bit happier in that moment? Capture and remember that feeling. Then, if possible, take action! I went stargazing last summer for the first time in years. It was amazing and lifted my spirits incredibly.</p>
<p>Start focusing on and doing the things on your list if you’re able. If not now, start a bucket list. No rush , no pressure, just put that list somewhere visible & look at, and think about that list everyday. Change it, or add to it when necessary . Start going down that list and going thru it one at a time and watch your outlook on your-Self & Your life start changing for the better. Watch new positive people start coming in to your life.</p>
<p>Its like a vision board. Make one of those if you feel it will help! The more you think about it, the more things small or large, will start moving toward that vision, and toward You. FOCUS on You is the key! Through this process, You start learning who YOU are, why you’re here, and what you really want from life.</p>
<p>There are many great stories of people who knew very young who they wanted to be and had great focus or great karma whom I’ve envied. Others like myself, had to constantly fight against others telling them to NOT be themselves but be like someone else and just fit in. One of my favorite stories is about <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucille_Ball" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lucille Ball </a>. Because of her enormous focus, intelligence, tenacity, talent, and her gift of healing the world with laughter, she defied them ALL and became a global force for good. Her work survives on TV decades after her passing and in many different languages because of the joy she gave to the world. Of course being a Leo helped her….alot.</p>
<p>Some of us are born more forceful and confident this lifetime and reach our goals & passions faster because of it. Some of us are here to learn and experience the journey from introvert or ambivert to extrovert. For example, classic Virgos make such good researchers, spies, scientists, surgeons,and lawyers. They don’t mind being hold up with a book, a test tube , or behind the scenes. But if we have some Leo planets in our chart…well, its like a split personality. Often classified as ambiverts, we love people and parties, but then we love our quiet time to focus on other things too.</p>
<p>So dare to be different! Dare to be YOU with balance. Take of you first, then be of service to others. Respect yourself and others always. DO no harm. Joy, ease & abundance will flow effortlessly.</p>

You showed me how to pick my battles, when to stand up and fight, and when to concede, with grace, and respect for my opponent, and with a smile.<br>You taught me to acknowledge good deeds no matter where, along with positive thinking, and to point out hypocrisy, and that anyone who doesn’t feel Love for all people is not spiritual. You taught me very young, that “whomever Your God may be, you don’t have to go to a church, you can talk to them wherever you Are”, and that “If you’re marrying someone to try and change them, well, just forget about it! Energy Is Unlimited, You Are Unlimited: Life is like a garden

Then everyone appears in their yards gardening, mowing, trimming, weeding, planting.</p>
<p>While gardening today, I recalled an article I’d written that was published in <a href="http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/222094594501?lpid=82&chn=ps&ul_noapp=true">Inside Karate</a> magazine long ago, using gardening as a metaphor for life. As I was hoeing I started to feel tired pulling up the huge mounds of thick crab grass and other things I didn’t want in my veggie garden. The out of control but amazing smelling apple mint , that was actually strangling the life out of the little bit of asparagus I had left, and stealthily working its way toward the strawberries and the rest of the garden was a task. Wow, what tenacity ! The strong roots under the dirt had grown like octopus tentacles reaching out every which way since last summer. I was feeling frustrated, then grabbed my hoe and started hacking away. But it smelled soooo good. I contained it to a much smaller area to use later for cooking, medicinal, and tea.</p>
<p>Life can sometimes feel like that. All the tasks, work and vampires, that can feel like your being strangled so that you can’t breathe, literally and figuratively. The job that you hate consuming you, negative thoughts ,like weeds, growing that reach through your whole being, and make you feel sick and or tired, choking, that then reach outward toward friends and family affecting your entire life and environment.</p>
<p>Then I thought about the days when I’d run along the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Monica_State_Beach">beach in Santa Monica</a> every morning for exercise. One morning while I was feeling tired, trying to press on, pushing myself not to quit, I had an enlightenment ! ” If I truly believe what I believe, that everything is made of energy, then my energy should be unlimited ! The Universe is loaded with electrons, and so am I ! So its not for lack of energy that I’m feeling tired. Its for lack of desire.” I have a choice.</p>
<p>Like a gardener we have choices. We are the creators of our lives. We can keep going, reaching deep for the energy that always “Was, IS and Will be”, like a <a href="http://viralscape.com/mother-saves-baby-in-fire/">Mother springing in to action</a>, able to do unbelievable things when her child is in danger, OR we can choose inaction, and do nothing, …not take that run/job/phone call/ junk food etc., today. We can have a trailer , flower gardens, and a house with a front porch,</p>

<p>or we can have weeds, or grass, OR we can plant veggies, OR yellow flowers,</p>

<p>Or we can pull them out and plant something else that makes us feel happy.</p>
<p>We can allow weeds to overtake our garden and our yards and our lives, OR we can “power up” gather our <strong><a href="http://www.greenoptimistic.com/connected-universe-nassim-haramein-20130508/#.VzHWdoRqHww">unlimited energy</a></strong>, our hoe and rake, and yank them out, cleaning and clearing our garden, our space, our <strong>minds</strong>, and start over with new plants, positive ideas, and thoughts and create a whole new garden that nurtures and feeds us, and gives us life instead of taking it away.</p>

<p>When we have the desire to do our <strong>Spring cleaning</strong> we also make more breathing room for the veggie or flower plants you want to keep, so they can thrive and bloom. The life analogy here, is like going back to your true self, the real You that became buried under all those weeds , negative trauma and thoughts, and now needs to grow, and reach for the Sun. It also applies to allowing energy to flow, air, water etc whether its your <strong>garden</strong>, your <strong>mind</strong>, your workplace, or cleaning your <strong>house</strong>, energy must flow for good health and quality of life.</p>
<p><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Energy"><strong>Energy just IS</strong> </a>! Everything is made of <strong><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electron">electrons</a></strong>, EVERYTHING! It’s all around us doing our bidding. The key is having the <strong>desire</strong> to use it in a positive way! What are you doing with your energy? If we’re angry all the time, thinking negative thoughts, energy acts out and mirrors us, and does the same. You will attract more negative energy, accidents, other angry people and situations in to your life.</p>
<p>SO many people I talk to these days have become cognizant of the need to eliminate negative people from their lives. Thats one step in the right direction. Another more important step is to reflect on how we are attracting those people in to our lives in the first place!</p>
<p>Tend to your gardens, maintain them and keep them weed free, positive, organized. Nurture your desire to weed out negative thoughts, energy, and habits that are no longer serving you. Take a hoe to the stubborn ones. Plant new things, positive thoughts, eat real organic food , and exercise. Search out and attract positive people. All this will grow and feed your desire to live a better quality of life. This is taking care of Body, Mind, & Spirit that I’ve been teaching since the early 1980’s.</p>

Fate, Predestination, or Just Plain Luck ?!
<p>Have you ever had one of those moments? A near miss, a life threatening illness or “accident” and you survived , a bit unglued, life flashing before your eyes, only to be left wondering, “What if?” or, like me the other day, ” Holy **** ! ” If you’ve read my previous blog about my “death” experience, you know that I’m no stranger to those kinds of moments or questions.</p>
<p>It’s already been a challenging year for many. For my family, there’ve been many passings over the last year and a half, not unlike some friends I heard about with multiple passings in their circles also. A time of great transition for so many.</p>
<p>In addition to intuitive readings for clients, I also do them for myself, using various methods. One method the Destiny cards, showed my chart to have several “Spades” coming up beginning last fall 2014 thru to next fall 2015. In the Destiny symbols, Spades are about spirituality, change, transitions, death, and rebirth, new beginnings.</p>
<p>Interestingly enough, ALL of the previously mentioned characteristics of the spades have showed up so far, just as the reading said they would. There’ve been numerous passings around me, many changes, a few new beginnings, as well as spiritual changes within. I’ve also had <em>multiple</em> Aces of Spades in this years reading, (one is bad enough!) the card for passing, ( I really don’t like the word “death” because nothing really dies ) which made some of these changes huge and challenging.</p>
<p>Clairvoyance helped me to take precautions, to think and focus on positive thoughts, go with the flow, and keep my mind and environment calm using <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uU_LZDfZwoI">Chimes From My Yard</a> playing in the background quite often at home, and in the car. I also created self-hypnosis affirmation recordings to stave off negative thought patterns that arose from these challenges. When we get exhausted and overwhelmed we’re at our weakest. Stress as you know, is one of the biggest killers. So no matter what came my way, I hung in there, embraced the challenge and made it thru, ….so far.</p>
<p>Well, a few weeks ago I had some trees cleared from my backyard and noticed the poison ivy getting out of control in one area. I knew I had to get at it, but I kept delaying constantly, day after day, until two mornings ago. I looked at my reading for that day, like I often do, and saw another Ace of Spades! “<em>Oh brother!”,</em> I thought to myself. <em>Now</em> what !? Can this Womyn get a break here? I immediately tried to forget about it, not wanting it to influence my day (or my thoughts) in a negative way. After all, I’ve made it this far….. That morning, I dragged my feet, finding other tasks to do to procrastinate, and finally suited up with pants, socks and boots, to protect my skin, and walked out there to do the ivy deed. I had to stop and move a large log that was holding the gate closed, pushed the gate open and walked thru. I strolled thru my beautiful small woods to the right, over past the withering May apples, to the area over run with ivy, and started spraying. I was only 5 minutes in to my task when I heard a very loud crash close by. I looked over in the general direction I just came from , and saw that a huge and very long branch had fallen directly over the gate entrance! Right where I had just stopped to move a log, push open the fence, and walk thru !</p>

<p>I went over to investigate. It took a minute before I could see where it fell from. I realized that it had fallen from quite a ways up, calculating in my head, what mass plus speed and impact would’ve felt like ! It fell off the tree to the right in this picture, and it had flipped over during its decent, so that the largest and heaviest part of the branch that could’ve been deadly, fell furthest away from ground zero, …the very narrow entrance way….I HAD JUST WALKED THRU !! I thought to myself, ….Ace of Spades !</p>
<p>Now, we’ve all had experiences where we’ve come thru knowing, seeing, that we had something to do with the way things turned out. We used our driving skills to avert a possibly fatal accident, a surgeon saving a life, you knowingly speaking calmly to avoid an argument which puts you more in control of the outcome. OR in the negative,… you cutting a watermelon, while being angry at someone, and slip and slice your finger instead. Thats a personal story I’m not proud to share. You know you shouldn’t be handling sharp things when you’re angry! So, for some things, its just easier to pin down the cause.</p>
<p>But what the hell is going on when you’re being positive, calm and productive and stuff falls out of the sky on you?! What does one make of the timing? So many times I tried to get out there, and decided on that moment ,when the tree branch was destined to fall! And then , reflecting on the morning reading with the Ace of Spades warning !</p>
<p>Was it luck or a warning that my timing was good? What if I weren’t so lucky? So and so (<em>enter deceased relative’s name here</em>) must’ve been watching out for me! I knew something might happen. Should I have been more cautious and stayed away from large trees? Why did it happen that way?! Why, of all the branches and all the spots in my yard, did the branch fall right in that spot? Inquiring minds want to know…..because inquiring minds already know, there are no accidents!</p>
